Cornell Haynes is responsible for overseeing the acquisition and disposition process for the Skyline Industrial REIT. Cornell’s duties include reviewing investment opportunities, sourcing, in addition to building and maintaining Skyline’s long-standing relationships with the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) brokerage community and 3rd party consultants. Other responsibilities include managing the property due diligence process and liaising with Skyline’s Property Management team and other internal teams.
Cornell joined Skyline’s acquisitions team in 2016 as an Acquisitions Analyst and has nine years of experience in the CRE industry. Prior to joining Skyline, Cornell held the role of a Candidate Appraiser with Altus Group where he sharpened his skills in real property valuation. Since joining Skyline, Cornell was promoted to the role of Acquisitions Associate prior to being promoted to his current role of Associate Director, Acquisitions for the Skyline Industrial REIT in 2022.
As a collegiate athlete, Cornell’s dedication and perseverance have transitioned with him from athletics to his career with Skyline’s Asset Management Team. As such, Cornell’s goal is to continuously contribute to the Skyline Industrial REIT’s positive performance with the aim of becoming one of Canada’s top-performing pure-play industrial REITs.
Cornell holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from the University of Guelph and a Post-Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation from the University of British Columbia. He is also a Volunteer Coach with the Flying Angels Track and Field Academy, leading the spring, summer and fall sessions in Guelph.
